Community Spirit Drumming at Shamanic Tribes
We're delighted to have Eamon from Community Spirit Drumming with us on the 15th April at the first Gathering for a djembé drumming circle for everyone attending.
Community Spirit Drumming encourages all members of the community to take part and focuses on inclusion, building self-esteem and team work as well as developing personal skill and learning rhythms.
The health benefits of drumming for mind body and soul are huge. It reduces blood pressure, anxiety and stress, it increases cognitive function and it can enable the participant to go into deep hypnotic states.
Drumming is a key feature of shamanic practice and be found in all the tribes around the world as a focal point of their ceremonies and healing.
Repetitive drumming is an effective technique used by shamans to reach trance states and to further retrieve information and medicine for the community. The drum itself is often seen as a sacred and revered object and the spirit of the animal whose skin was used to make the drum is honoured and remembered through ceremony.
For more information and video clips of the drumming, Follow Community Spirit Drumming on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/pg/communityspiritdrummingGalway/
